Numerology Collection Mosque

Numerology looks at the symbolic significance of numbers found in religious texts. In this context, numbers are believed to hold deeper meanings and convey spiritual insights. The number you see here was produced from scrap pine and walnut wood, designed to require only small cuts to become recognizable with minimal waste.

The number one in Islam is used to convey absoluteness and unity. A very important concept is Tawhid, which is the faith in the oneness of Allah. The Shahada (declaration of faith) begins with "La ilaha illa Allah," - “There is no god but Allah.” The number one also represents unity among the Muslim community, which is known as Ummah.

In Islam, three represents completeness when performing a ritual. When performing Wuduu (ablution) almost every part of the body gets washed three times. During certain prayers, dua is repeated three times. The Prophet himself is reported to have said that the faithful posses three qualities.

The number seven in Islam is representative of divine perfection. The Quran states that there are seven layers of heaven and seven layers of the earth, both of which Allah created. Surah Al-Fatiha, the first chapter in the Quran, contains seven verses and is repeated during prayer or significant events such as proposals for marriage. Even during Hajj (the pilgrim- age to Mecca), Muslims perform Tawaf, which means they walk around the Holy Ka’abah seven times in counterclockwise circles.

The number ten appears in Islam as a series of special days or in rewards and repentance. There is reference to the last ten days of Ramadan being special as well as the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah, the month in which pilgrims preform Hajj. In other Surahs, it is a number associated with repentance or reward for certain deeds.
